Visiting Shibuya Sky
A first-time visitor's orientation · Information based on public operator guidance
Shibuya Sky occupies the top of Shibuya Scramble Square, a 230-metre tower directly above Shibuya Station. The experience is spread across SKY GATE, SKY GALLERY and SKY STAGE, and a relaxed visit usually takes 60 to 90 minutes.
Getting there
From JR lines, follow signs for Hachikō or the East Exit. From Tokyo Metro, follow the B6/C2-side signs toward Shibuya Scramble Square. The dedicated observation elevator starts at the 14th-floor ticket hall.
Tickets and hours
Tickets are sold by the official operator online and at counters when capacity allows. Advance timed booking is recommended on weekends and holidays. Opening hours are commonly around 10:00–22:30, but maintenance, weather and seasonal events can change this, so always confirm with the official site within 24 hours of your visit.
The three levels
SKY GATE
The atmospheric transition from the entrance floor to the observation floors.
SKY GALLERY
The indoor 46th-floor gallery with floor-to-ceiling glass, useful in winter and bad weather.
SKY STAGE
The open-air rooftop deck. It is windy, exposed and dramatic — the signature part of the visit.
Weather and closures
The rooftop may close during thunder, strong wind or heavy rain. The indoor gallery typically remains usable. Check official notices before travelling.
What to bring
- A light jacket, even in warmer months.
- A wide lens or phone with ultra-wide mode.

- Drones are prohibited.
- Large loose items can be refused during windy conditions.
